We finally gave up our S10 fronts, our CS100 and our M3-B rears and acquired some new speakers, veeeeeeeery pleased (to put it mildly) We AB'd the LSi series with quite a few others and brought a several different pieces home to try out before settling on the LSi's. We grew up listening to our dads Polk-7's and we're pleased with this offering.

Hi TennesseeOutlaw - We checked out a friends used Mirage setup (2 front, 1 center, 2 rear [bookshelf size] - Loved the sound but didn't want to purchase used), a set of Focal's in the same price range (they sounded great but they were a little too much on the high end (tinny, bright...) and the 9's blew away the focal bookshelfs we checked out - no offense to anyone, we realize this is all subjective), and some Dynaudio booksehelf (as fronts) ONLY (WAY out of our league in the $$ Dept). We also tried 4 9's (2 front and 2 rear) and we're really glad that we got the 15's in front and the 9's in the back! Thanks for the Welcome!

I wish, OH do I WISH, I had the coin to go with DynAudio.. I have been a fan of the equipment for years.. I had DynAudio components in my car when I use to compete. (1994-1997). Which DynAudio bookshelf did ya check out? Price? How did it compare to the 9's? And if you had the money would you have went in that direction?

Hi TennesseeOutlaw, we really did like the dyn's but the pair of bookshelf speakers that we listened to (which sounded freakin' great!!) were about $4500.00 (for the pair of bookshelf's that we borrowed to take home). They sounded great but we think we would only consider listening to music as they were really great sounding with music. We honestly didn't think they were ideal for Home Theatre (though I'm guessing Dyn makes an HT offereing), but that may have been our rational helping our wallet! If I had endless funds I'd probably set up a set with a tube amp in a different wing of the house (we said wing, implying that we'd expand our current house or we'd purchase yet another after winning the lottery...). In comparing the pair of Dyn's we borrowed they were punchier than the 9's, and brighter than the 9's, at lower volumes. We'd like the Dyn's we listenened to for stage type monitors (Geoff is a drummer).
Janmike, thanks for the welcome, I wonder if growing up on Polks has a direct effect on the preference we have for polk? hmmmm

We picked up a used Mint Sonance Cinema 5150 (5x200 watts at 4ohm) really brings the LSi's to life!

We've allocated the 5x200wpc@4ohms for the center, sides and rears. We've picked up a Carver A-500x 2 channel amp which is 2x400wpc@4ohms for the 15's. In addition we've added a pair of the LSiFX's and we're pleased as a pig in...well you know. The Carver really brought the 15's to life. The differences from my amp in my AVR, to the Sonance Cinema 5150, to the Carver are amazing. The addition of the LSiFX's has been outstanding and really takes sound to the places the room needed. Wow, wow, wow the sound in here is just increadible!!!

Hi HT, Thanks for the kind words, the entire setup sounds increadible, the 15's just came alive when we added the Carver. We've started to learn about Subs but we're a long way from where we'd like to be on Subs. Any links you can point us at on Subs would be great.

We know we're new here but if you've got 15's (or LSi's for that matter) give them power!!

Looks like some very nice stuff, You know we have to say that our 7 year old Velo is keeping up quite nicely and that may be because of the accompaniment of the LSI's. I'm trying to track one down an SVS locally from a local audio shop.

'Our quest for the grail continues' 'though we could use a shrubbery, to satisfy the nights that say NEAT!!' uhh, never mind...

We'll keep you posted HT as things develop!

Well the sub arrived this afternoon packed on a skit like it was headed to Iraq. Friends came over to help open and deploy this bugger!! Got it in the system, and

OMFG!!! Freakin' amazing!! Changed the Entire system, the entire room, we're dumbfounded!!!!!! It also happens to look amazing!! What a beautiful piece!!

Congrats. Sub upgrade normally is what provides the biggest overall improvement in HT. Now you can amaze your guests doing some demos
