im useing a pioneer head unit i wanna run 3 amps but i need more power out of my remote wire to turn them on . I know how to get more power to turn the amps on useing a relay. I just need to know how i can delay the signal so that i dont get that pop/thuding noise from such a quick turn off. So how would i go about geting rid of system pop

put the relay on a switch or the keyswitch , your thump is coming from the head unit when it turns off. turn off the switch first then the head unit.

Are you talking about the poping noise when you shut off your amp? Mine will do it with only the amp running. In my case - it is the power discharge from the caps in the amp. No real way around it, but it does not hurt the speakers.

If you are curious how much power is in the pop - break out your spl meter when you shut off the amp. If you know how efficient your speakers are, you should be able to guess how much power is going to them during the discharge based on the volume of the pop. In my case, it was way under 1 watt (but the pop still sounds loud to me).

Stinger makes a turn on pop eliminator. I have one that was never installed if you are interested. $24.95 is what I paid for it. You can have it for $15.00 shipped.

They also make the opposite...turn-off pop eliminators. It leaves your amp on a few seconds after you shut off your HU.

I doubt you need a relay at all.

In my old Ram, I was running 3 amps AND a processor all off the HU's remote turn on lead.

3 amps shouldnt be a problem at all.
