Split out LFE to Low End on Mains?

I have old(er) rt1000ps and a psw450 sub and there are number of ways to connect this to my reciever (a Denon). Right now I have the mains using both the little sub (in the base of rt1000ps) along with the other two drivers, all connected as front left and right (I use the supplied patch clip to enable the full compliment of drivers). I have the psw450 connected to the LFE channel. My question. Should I disconnect the 'little subs' in the rt1000ps and chain them to the psw450, so all three subwoofers use the LFE channel? I would have to do some rewiring so I thought I'd get thoughts on this before I started. What are the advantages? Thanks.

I would try running the rt's just off the left and right. and set the fronts as large(if they are not already). Hook the sub up to the lfe. What I found works best here at my location is no lfe!. I have my fronts, center, surrounds all set to large. The center channel output runs from the receiver to the sub, then to the center(using the subs internal crossover). The bass is a lot more realistic, fuller, and digs lower than when I have it running off of the lfe. <this may not be the case with your denon as I am just using a cheapy technics. Play around see what sounds good to you try any combination you can think of, shoot try using your sub with your surrounds, you never know what could happen.

Good luck, play hard, Welcome to Forum,

I would leave your subs in the RT1000s as they are and if your receiver or pre/pro allows you to set the bass maagement for the LFE channel to output to both mains and sub (PSW450), try that ,and compare it to LFE output to the sub only. I think having all the low bass output to the monophonic LFE channel is undesirable, at least I have found it to be so in my room with my system. Your results may vary, of course.

I have two old, small Velodyne subs that I have set up in stereo configuration basically in parallel with my LSi15 mains. In addition a have a sub (some old Kenwood "****-box") hooked up to the LFE output that I turn on only for HT. Its good for explosions, and such but not so great for music. I have the base output on my pre/pro set to deliver LFE effects to both mains and sub. I have the surrounds and center set to "small " (personal preference) and the mains set to "large". The little Velodynes are placed right next to my mains. The left Velodyne receives only the L channel output and the right Velodyne receives only the R output. This is rou.ghly equivalent to what you have now.
I'm pretty happy with this set up for music (with the Kenwood off) and Home Theater (Kenwood on). Someday I would like to upgade the Velodynes to SVS SB12s, and I think then I'll be in hog heaven.
