Hannibal Rising

What a impressive film. Has anybody else seen this? I went with the wife last night, and wow... extremely well done. I was afraid it was going to be pretty shoddily thrown together, but boy was I wrong.
The kid who played Hannibal was just down right wicked at times. The plot was excellent, even if a little morbid. A must see if you are a fan of the first two.
A solid A+ in my book. I won't go into a ton of detail to spoil any of it, but it was a very impressive ride. Not an Action flick, mind you, but drama thru and thru... and I loved every minute of it!

I was dissapointed as this Hannibal was just a twisted and brutal murderer. I wish they would have gone into the psychological realm a lot more and had more dialogue between him and the police officer. Those scenes were the best in the movie. Yeah, I know his technique and motives are refined through time but I saw this main charactor morphing into the villain in Saw rather than the Hannibal in SOTL.There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

I loved reading all of Harris's books. Hannibal was a POS IMHO. I'm go a see Hannibal Rising but I'm not going to visit this thread again because I like to be not conditioned by opinions and facts giving the movie plot away.

But that's how it all started! REVENGE!
I can see your point, but I actually think the movie was so much deeper than just that. It was extremely psychological, as it shows his progression into who he became. He was a cannibal. Hannibal loves to eat flesh and brains. How could this guy's childhood be any different?
As I said again, I was throughly impressed.Honoured to be, an original SOPA founding member
