Just bought this set of SDA SRS's off e-bay, picked them up half way meeting in Bowling Greek at the Corvette Museum. Almost broke my back moving them into my house with my son helping. 185 lbs each. They are in perfect condition it appears. I need to rig up a interconnect cable to try them out. Cost me $1500 plus gas and rental van for one day. Another $125.

ever since my SDA 1-c's got damaged in shipment, i will never do that again. pick up only is the way to go.

Plan to upgard these with polyproplyene Caps and Mil Grade wire resistors

I plan to bi-amp these with two david hafler DH-500's that have been , Poodged, with all polyproplyene capacitors and Sulzer, Jung regulators for the input stages using a separate trranformer and power supply.

while you got the upgrade bug.. you might want to upgrade those tweeters too.. it'll make a nice difference.. it's not cheap though. but worth it all the way.

BTW I had some Hafler amps back in the day. . .I still have one, I believe it is a DH 180. I modified it with Musical Concepts upgrades.

Well good luck, buy Darquknights SDA Compendium if you don't already have it. It is required reading for SDA owers plus he goes into detail on modifying SDA/SRSs.

Before connecting these, it's important to read the SDA manual and any addendum. A member maintains a website with great info including the manuals you need. http://polksda.com/manuals.shtml

Pay close attention to the sections on bi-wiring and bi-amping. If you have modded Hafler's or plan to mod them be sure that they (or any other amps you use) are common ground.

The cabinets are getting old so check if they are still sealed. Inspect the wood endcaps for splits or cracks. Gently press against the large passive radiator with the palm of your hand and watch that all of the mid-woofers return slowly to position. If one or more return faster than others you have an air leak. It could be the seals behind the drivers or tweeters but check the screws first. Do not over tighten the screws! Finally check the screws and seal at the rear crossover terminal.
