I just wanted to share a very strange sensation... after fixing a couple of obvious major holes on my setup I feel almost, umm, content. I never thought I could ever feel this way! Do you guys always want to upgrade, or is there a momentary happiness that lingers for a few days/weeks?

I replaced my TV with a 56" LCoS set, replaced my receiver, and bought a Harmony remote. For once the quality of my audio and video are around equal. I had a Onkyo 602 and replaced with a Denon mostly for the audio delay feature to correct a AV lip synch issue. I must say the Denon produces a nicer sound to my ears anyway. I especially like the way it has improved the bass coming out of my SVS.

Next month I will probably decide I need to replace my surround speakers - my new weak link :-) But today I feel good!

Mains: Polk RTi8
Center: Polk CSi5
Surrounds: Polk R30
Sub: SVS PB10-ISD
Receiver: Denon AVR-687
TV: 56" JVC HD-56G787
Game Console and MP3 Streaming: Xbox 360
Remote: Harmony 880

Upgraditis is cureable... it just usually takes several thousand dollars to find that "synergy" and sweetness that we all crage.

    Congrats on a happy setup!

FWIW, at this point right now I am content with what I have, sure it's not the best, but it's the best that I've ever had. Not to toot my own horn but it's better than any of my family or friend's systems. I'm waiting on some cables which are in the mail to complete it ( the ones I have now are good I just wanted a bit better) Now that I have my 3 monoblocks I feel it's completed. Well that said I was watching tv tonight and thought I wonder how much better my rears would sound if I went from rti4 to the rti6..ha there you go. Well all in all it's great and I'm content. Sure when we move into a bigger place, I'll get a new centre csi5 and a new sub and a projector. Then I'll work on a 2ch for the living room with a TT. But to get back to the point YES I am happy with what I have and have no burning desire to make a big change.
