Front speaker stands. (a noob like no other)

yes .. I know my question is a little unorthodox , and I know there is an ongoing thread about speaker stands, but I have a slightly different problem. I need some speaker stands for my fronts. I have the Monitor 60 speakers. what I want to know is
1. weather a 30 CM lift will make any kind of difference to the sound?
2. are there even stands out there designed to handle that kind of speakers?

p.s.
why lift at all you ask ? well , apparently Mon 60s resemble trees to my cocker spaniel, or at least the right one does. in order to keep this forum's class intact ,suffice to say he really takes his scent marking seriously.

thanks in advance

Where are you from the reason I ask is cause you use Cm...either south/central America or Canada..maybe even Europe.

Sorry to hear about your dog using the speaker as a fire hydrant that must piss you off..;) anyway, looks like you will need to build your own stands to hold up such a large speaker or train your dog. May try using two way tape and make some kind of square around the speaker, the dog may not like having his paws stick to the tape. Or try some of that bitter apple spray you can find at pet shops.

Good luck and Welcome to the forum

    I am from Israel actually.
stopped by my hi-fi store this morning, tried to mount Monitor 60s on a bunch of available stands, different brands sizes and prices. there are two problems, the improvised rig is way to shaky, and you loose some of the low range sound (a thing that the Monitor 60s simply can't afford). I'll try to pickup something at the pet store. and if that fails, I'll construct some kind of a fence rig.

    10x from the quick reply.

I believe Zero uses stands for his Totem Sttafs. They are roughly the same height as the 60's -- and actually weigh a bit less.

Maybe you could contact him to see what he's using.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

A funny thing ... I wanted to send a private message to Zero , following your advice ...but alas , it seem my post count is smaller then 10 ... so I can't. its all good though. my better half can easily make quota in one day but thats another story (being brave, because she won't get caught dead in an audio forum).
In any case , thanks for the tip , will do.

Instead of raising your speakers.....lower the dog.

Strap a cinderblock to his back, see how easily he does his thing
    on 3 legs then.Just a thought.....

errrr I am a peta person ... Fixing him will solve the problem, but I love my dogs ... actually with the exception of I.R.S auditors , I love all living creatures, and I wouldn't chop their business either. nope ... my passion for listening to music the way it deserves, will cost a little more.

If you are not going to breed the dog, get it spayed. It would be the best all the way around. That is truly the way to show you love your dog. Welcome to CP.

BTW, I have a game plan, I found a pair of lexus stands (S055), gonna shorten them from 70 CM to 15 CM (that's all I need ) and broaden their base for stability. I'm Friends with this dude, who's got some funky power tools and a fetish for altering stuff (one of those jesse james fans).
    hopefully it'll come up robust.

Electric dog collar will take care of that , a dog house outside will too. I love my dogs but if they ever raised there leg on the cabinets or speaker ......ohhh man a whooooping is commencing along with a lot of bitching ....

You could wire the leads from a taser with bare copper in a grid pattern on the grilles. It'll be the last time the dog pees on that speaker.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.
