what does it mean if an amp has a dual mono design. its a b&k 4420. the guy bought it in 94. would this be a good or bad idea to buy. it is a 2 channel w/ 200w per channel. any suggestions thanks

IIRC, it means that it essentially is two monoblock amps in the same chassis.
What speakers are you going to be powering with the amp? -
I have rti 10's. Is dual monoblock a good design, I'm really not very familiar with specs on the diff. amps. and would it matter that the amp is 12-13 years old if it was well taken care of

No, that amp should be fine given its age if well taken care for. It would be a good mate for your speakers too. They are going to benefit from the extra power.
What pre amp or receiver will you be using? -
