I have a set of these.. Actually I love them. They have a great tight and low bass response.. They are ported in the rear at the bottom.. I have an entire Infinity Beta 50 system for sell.. Includes (2) Beta 50's, (1) Beta C360, (2) Beta 20's, and (1) PSW-12 500 watts/rms (Infinity).. If you have any other questions about them just holler.. BTW, what was the price you found them for and where??

I have heard the Inifitys and I felt that the Beta series were too muddy.... real sorry TOutlaw.... but that's just my opinion. I felt that the Polk RTi12 are far better than whichver Infinity Beta you have in mind.

But then again, audio is subjective to the point where my opinion is of no consequence... listen for yourself.

    YMMV.

But my opinion, the Beta would be a lateral move at best. Stick with your system, it's a system I used to dream about not too long ago.

The Beta 50's are definitely more laid back than the Rti's. However this might be a good thing depending on associated gear and personal preference.

One thing I will say for sure is that the Rti's have a far nicer finish.

No apology necassary. Ronnie wasnt too specific on what he wanted/needed these for.. I didnt take it that he wanted to replace the Rti12's (IMO are much better speaker than the Beta50). So I gave him my opinion on how they sounded to me.. They are definately much more laid back and have much less bass for sure, but I dont know if I would call them "muddy"???. For the price of the Beta's they are sure hard to beat. A very well rounded speaker for its price range for sure.. You can buy a pair of these for less than one Rti12!!! Ronnie, if you are thinking of replacing the 12's, I would definately not go this route.. If you are setting up another "smaller" system in your house, hey give um a shot! For the price, the quality of components, build quality, and sound they are a superb speaker.

    Josh,
It's all relative I suppose. I think it was because I was comparing them to the RTi line. It does sound laid back, and does exude a little bit less detail, or atleast it seemed like it to me. I'll take "muddy" back.... maybe laid back w/ less detail is a better way of putting it.

I would think some RTi8's would be within striking distance for him. Without the 8's and 12's being side by side he may not even notice the difference.

Not notice the diffence? WOW!! The bass output is such a dramatic increase in the 12's, there is no way you couldnt tell the difference..
