Picked up my new LSis from crutchfield to take advantage of their sale and subwoofer offer. Placed 4 orders and got my 4 subs too... Im a couple months out from finishing construction on my Home Theater but I wanted to get the ball rolling on amp selection. I was set on a Outlaw 990/7700 combo, but w/acquisition of a new PS3 and other components I decided to hold off until HDMI 1.3 is released and integrated into pre/pros. Is it possible to buy the 7700 and get a lower end processor until the new ones come out?? I just dont think I can wait until the end of the year which is when everyone is speculating. What do you suggest? Again, this is my first HT setup so im still new to all this... Thanks!

Damn - thems some impressive boxes right there. I would get the amp and just get an inexpensive pre/pro (used) or AVR with pre/outs (used again) to tide you over for a year or so.
If you purchase used, you won't lose much money on them when you sell them.

Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms) -

+1 for that idea!
You don't need an HDMI 1.3 receiver to work with the PS3 or anything for the matter that uses 1.3. They are all backwards compatible regardless.
Mike
BTW, Congrats on the purchase! Nicely done... -
Why not just get what you want now and sell and upgrade when the time comes? I mean, you just blew a pretty big wad on those speakers, it would be a crying shame to just let them sit in a box for all that time.
BTW, that picture is getting me pretty hot. -
PSW-10's with LSi's? They won't go as low as your LSi's without a sub.

Definitely still getting my SVS sub for HT. Im going to use the others in gym and upstairs w/a surround bar...

If you are running mainly HT and want to purchase new, the outlaws are great amps. If you are going to be doing a mix of HT and music and are willing to purchase used - you can do better for the same money.
Just my opinion and worth thinking about prior to purchasing.

Congrats!!! By all means get the Outlaw 7700 & the cheapest receiver that has outputs and enjoy! I'm partial to Denon, but you also might want to look at Outlaws receiver or prepro!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

Cathy, why no pics of your system?
Congrats on your new speakers, I'm sure you will love them. I have yet to hear the Lsi. I have just amped my Rti8's and Csi3 and they are what seems new speakers which sound great, so I can only imagine what your new set up would sound like. Make sure you take pics of your new setup ! -
There's a used Sunfire Cinema Grand amp for $995 on Audiogon (of course it shows up the day after I spend more money on a Cinepro!).

I haven't heard the Sunfire but from what everyone on here says it is a great amp for the LSi series.

I don't have any old pictures of my system & I don't have a digital camera to take any now!
If someone with a camera wants to come by & take pictures of it for me, be my guest!:DWillow wrote:Cathy, why no pics of your system?Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
I can get a used Outlaw 950 for pretty cheap, and just get my 7700 new from Outlaw. Would this combo work for a 7.1 setup??
