Add a cd transport or stick with the dvd player

OK Ive been looking at the rega planet for a while, would you just stay with the DVD player or get the Rega and add it too your system....... starting to run outa room for stuff....This sounds like a no brainer to some. Ive heard the Rega in simple two channel mode and was WOWED by it.

    With the 1.2's in the mix now, I'd start separating 2ch as much as possible. Your last sentence seems to answer your own question, no?

    You are right about the question I heard the rega just before I purchased the 1.2's. sometimes you wanna hear it from someone else as well ..... without it the system is less comlicated but if you can put it another room hey what the heck lets do it .... yea honey Ive had this old cd player in the closet for ages its a cheapo cd player I had before we got married yea ....heheheheh

    But the 1.2's are kinda hard to seperate from the living room not that I havent wanted to do that ...Im kinda funny about the kids listening to them while Im gone though... (jealousy sets in as well as fear ) along with the fact they have no concept on value of these things....

    What are you guys thoughts on audio quality where the dvd audio is concerned.....

    I use an Oppo connected to my Timbre DAC and when I get the chance to jump on a great CD transport at a good price, I'm there. I also use the Oppo as an SACD player and it sounds good but then again I've never heard a GOOD SACD player. I'm sure when I do, I will be grabbing an SACD player too.

    Not that the Oppo isn't good it just is too inconsistent with some material.

    My CEC CD-3300 performed better as a transport when compared against a Denon DVD-2910. A Benchmark DAC1 was used. For the ultimate in CD, I'd say go with a dedicated transport.
