What do I need to get over-the-air HD channels?
I don't have a HDTV but I have 720p projector.
I know that I need a HD TV antenna like Zenith Silver Sensor.
What else do i need?

Currently I have basic cable for Comcast that's all analog and I'm not planning to get HD service yet.
Please advice.

You don't technically need any special HD antenna, you just need any antenna. Depending on how far you are from the signal, you may only need old fashioned rabbit ears.

Unfortunately, the other thing you need is some kind of tuner / converter. I'm sure someone can recommend a decent one, but from the last time I looked at them they run 150-200 bucks.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

an HD tuner and a standard antenna is all you need. I have a tuner built into my Hitachi TV and have a $15 antenna behind the TV to pick up HD stations. (It was the cheapest antenna that American sold)

A Quick search on Pricegrabber for "HDTV tuner" resulted in one result
Samsung DTB-H260F HDTV Tuner for $169
Are there any suggestions on the tuner?
OR What's the best & cheap alternative.
    Thanks,

Most HD and or Digital SD channels are on UHF, but some can be on VHF also. Just a heads up.

check antennaweb.org for info on OTA HD. I bought their $19 antenna which isn't quite strong enough as HD breaks up when it's windy, etc but will do until I get FIOS HD this summer. The guy on the phone told me this would happen and recommended the somewhat more expensive antenna for my viewing area but it requires outside mounting. hdguru.com is also helpful.

Which is "their" antenna? I'm in the market for an indoor antenna to hopefully pick up my local HDs. I'm ~10miles from all the towers. Thanks.

If that close try a cheap pair of rabbit ears to try out. This will at least work or give you a good idea what would work for you.

Yeah, I was thinking about just buying a cheap antenna at Target/WalMart to see. I'm confused about whether I'll be getting locals in HD when DISH installs at my house next week.

Possible but too many variables for me to say for sure, you got antenna issues, receiver issues, channel package issue. Let's face it you have ISSUES ;)

Yeah, even if I do get locals from satellite I will be setting up an appropriate antenna since the DVR has a separate tuner. Recording 3 HD channels at the same time is insane!

Dish has a DVR with 3 tuners to recorded 3 shows? TiVo HD DirecTV box has 4 tuners (2 local / 2 sat) but can only record 2 and watch a third if you wish.

Their 622 HD-DVR unit has 2 satellite tuners and a 3rd OTA turner, all of which can record HD material at the same time. I don't think you can watch anything live at the time though.

I have Comcast as well and I get the main broadcast channels in HD just through the cable and they look phenomenal, better than a DVD in some cases. None of the cable channels come through in HD though.
