Rounding out a RM300 setup

I decided (I think) to move the rt7s to surround duty in the new theater and use the rm3000s up in the living room mounted on the wall. I have four of them but need to find a center. Checking the parts list it appears the rm3000 and rm3000II share the same tweeter but different drivers. Does anyone know how "off" a center from the II series would be with the original ones? Also, did the II series only come in that stone finish? I may opt for a 3 piece set and use my origianl ones as sourrounds but I don't know how I feel about the "stone" finish. And anyone have any opinions how the II series sounds compared to the originals? I have searched all the threads I can find about the RM3000s and understand there are some real fans of them here.
