Amp Recommendation

I am looking for an amp for my Rti8's and I mainly listen to music. I also have a PSW12 sub and I will be hooking the amp up to my Yamaha HTR-5740 receiver. My budget is 450 bucks..may go to 500

    Check over at the videogon/audiogon.com, Ebay, and keep checking around the classifieds.

    May I ask why you are looking for an amp? I believe you are looking for something to tame those RTi's and adding a seperate amp to that Yammy isn't going to solve your problems. You are still going to get that signature sound from that Yammy, and amplify the brightness even more. I believe your best bet is looking at receivers from H/K which tend to be more laidback sounding and offer you more watts per your dollar which will power the RTi series quit nicely IMHO.

    Check Ebay for HK direct. They sell refurbs cheap straight from the factory. Thats what I replacedmy Yami with... then started adding amps... then went to speakers... now I'm doing the wires... , but start with the HK.

    This is what I bought. I just use it as a pre amp. Its kinda low on the watts... So if you want to buy a used amp like an Adcom you can save some money on the reciever, or you can buy a higher end reciever, and not buy external amps.

    Behringer A500 amps. You can get two brand new for under $500. Run each one bridged mono (500x1) your RTi's will sing.
