No one that went there has ever returned!

I've spent alot of time over the years in the Deep Creek, MD area which is about 90 miles dead east of Fairmont, so I would quess the country side is as pretty. Also spent a little time in Oceana, WV (30 miles west of Beckly) and I'm not going back. Actually saw a Ford Edsal in mint condition (except it didn't run) on the side of the road down there. The coal trucks are king and that girl was really gooooooooood with the wood!!!

I grew up there and moved to Maryland after getting my degree 15 years ago. I just got back from a road trip through that area and was wondering if anyone else had enjoyed the sights.

Yeah....sights are nice but when you get on I-68....man that sucks if you got 40,000lb. to 46,500lb. in your trailer. Up and down.....up and down....up and down.....You get the picture! Years ago hauled bottled water from NJ to KY and hated running that road.
Oh, the bottle has been to me, my closes friend, my worse enemy!

    Yea,
Way back when I first traveled that road it was a two lane road with a passing lane in some places going up the mountains. That was nasty! Now it is at least two lanes each way and is very nice to drive. This time it took me three hours each way. Used to be it took almost five. It is still up and down though. Sure would hate to be carrying water!
