Ok we've heard of this from Westboro Baptist church protesting at other funerals before.. and now they are showing up at the funerals of military people.

What the hell is wrong with these people? Have they no decency at all? Are they not human?

ANyway.. i'm not trying to start any kind of debate on religion or freedom of speech here.. just wanted to point out the lengths this insane followers for Fred Phelps are doing now.

These people give Christianity a bad name. They are sooooooo far right of even the right wing Christians. They make the "snake handlers and poison drinkers" seem mainstream. And this opinion is coming from a Southern Baptist (me).

If they would work within the bounds of free speech, that would be fine! Physical harrassemet of a grieving family is not free speech. Getting in a grieving mothers face and telling her she is responsible for her son's death and trying to throw red paint on her is not free speech.

These people are sick. I did a search trying to find out about there Church, and all I could find is...

Lynch at Large: June 2006Members of the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas visited Beebe to say that God hates American soldiers. The funeral for 23 year old Bobby West, ...
    lynchlarge.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_lynchlarge_archive.html - 244k - Cached - Similar pages

God hates who? I never seen where it says God hates anyone in the Bible. It says God hates sin a bit, but not God hates the sinner. It would be nice if someone with a 30-06 or a 7mm mag sent that preacher straight to God to ask him if God really hates the soldiers that are fighting for this country.

That idiot preacher is going to get one of his members shot, or beat to death.

I truely believe in Jesus Christ, but I don't see him in any of this crap these people are pulling.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. These people give nobody a bad name. Theyre not part of the left or right wing, religious or aethiest.

Theyre just sick, evil people just like the terrorists our military is defending us from. They can sit in their "churches" and spout all the insane crap they want but when they decide to pollute the funerals of this countries finest human beings, they forfeit their right to live as far as Im concerned. At the very least they should be beaten until they will never walk right again.

Beat them at their own game.

They believe in Freedom of Speech ? So do I.

While the family appropriately grieves for their fallen member, attendants can demonstrate the principle of free speech to the Phelps assembly:

"Say, Mr. Phelps, I've seen pictures of your mom, and she's one hot witch.
I'm not saying she does, but could you ask her if she ****s **** ? Or do you already know. 'Cause if she does, I'd like to **fill-in-the-blanks-with-the
    -most-offensive-degenerate-stomach-churning-vile-filth-you-can-dredge-up".

    ....than substitute his sister.

....than his brother or son or other male family member.

Easy as pie. Get 'em to hit you (have it captured on film) than sue them for $10 million.

My daughter's best friend lost her husband in Iraq back in October leaving behind a two month old son that he had seen only once. How in the HELL could someone dishonor that kind of sacrifice so they can enjoy their freedoms. I agree with Tony, they need introduced to a true symbol of Americana, the Lousiville Slugger!!!

It is quite amazing that anyone would dishonor any ceremony for a soldier who has died, regardless of their opinion on the war.

I hadn't heard of the Patriot Guard before but it appears to be quite an outstanding arrangement.

I drove by the high school.. and the parking lot was full of people in attendance. at the memorial. most of them not even knowing Cpl. Darrel Morris

This is a military city.. and the support for anyone in any branch that loses their life.. hits home pretty hard, as I'm sure it does in all communities across the US.

It is a site displaying the loss of life that has occurred in the war with many specific details. I don't see anything anti-American about putting a war in scope. I would deem it necessary to have a full understanding of what war means.

Thanks Bro for taking the time to read it and summarize it for me. Altough I didn't read it I take youir word on its contents and I don't believe it is un-anti-American about giving the scope of the war. Read that asshat's other posts and you will understand my suspicion and hostillity towards him/her whatever.

Hey Steve thanks for trying but the only I can click on are button s and radio buttons. This thing is like working from a dumb terminal and twice as slow. But I'm grateful it is here because I hate gambling and my beautiful wife (who btw looks incredible tonight) loves the casino so while she obsesses over that, I can play on the forum. How's your back and sciatica tonight? Mine only seems to bother me lately when I stand for long periods.

Thank s to the Patriot guard, grieving families in Oregon have not had to worry about the Westboro nutjobs. Within the last two weeks a funeral service was held at a local Catholic high school, the protesters couldn't even get close because of the riders doing laps. One family member commented later that they never heard or saw the protesters.
