I was watching and listening to Phil Collins Finally...First farewell tour.
I really enjoy a well thought out musical percussion session! And this intro really delivers. The sound is recorded well in my opinion. If you enjoy drums It is worth the price of admission alone. The rest of the music is great as well.
Some of the things I did not like about this DVD. The cinema photography is terrible. The cameras were shaky and at one point a camera man with a $20,000 camera setup is below Phil with his camera pointed up. One of the stage lights is in the frame and he ZOOMs in on the white stage light....WTF.
All that said, I am proud to own and would recommend this album...lots of extras
P.S. any other good percussion albums?
Dave Matthews CRASH etc.

Lsi9,
I am glad you enjoyed this album. I bought it local. This album was not for me. I will give it a listen again in a couple of weeks to see if my mood changes...as of now I did not like the eletro, techno feel to it..for now....
Any other album suggestions out there?
Thanks,

I shouldve recommended you to go to amazon.com and sample the individual tracks first, you should do this on every suggestion someone gives you before blind buying a cd
Ok try it in a couple of weeks, I hope you hear it differently
cheers.

In the Jazz theme perhaps one of the best of the contemporary drummers is Billy Cobham. Try these:Spectrum or Shabazz. It's progressive fusion type Jazz but the drumming is excellent.
Any live Jimi Hendrix with the Experience. Mitch Mitchell is a monster, the Complete Woodstock dbl. disc comes to mind. Dave Matthews - Listener Supported or any other of his multiple live albums he has put out.
The Who - Live At Leeds is a great drum cd. Keith Moon at his best. Just a few off the top of my head.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
