Apparently Onkyo is soon to release an audiophile pc

I was pretty interested in the article at first...then I saw the price. For what it is, this thing shouldn't cost so much. The only thing it has over a low end PC right now is the "audiophile" sound card and a really nice looking aluminum case.

The thing is though, you can buy a really nice looking aluminum miniATX case for 100 bucks now and a stellar sound card for a few hundred bucks. Throw a decent pc in there and you have the same thing for under a grand without the Onkyo name on it.
Ghetto Rig
Power: HK AVR245.
Screen: LG 24" 1080p.
Speaks: Rti4.
Source: PC. PS3. Xbox360.
Cables: BlueJeans. Monoprice.

Considering that hd players are already linux pcs, this doesn't surprise me. It should be great when the first virus comes along that brings down your home theater...

I love love love slot loaded cd drives. I don't have a MAC, but the one thing about their laptops from a purely aesthetic standpoint is their slot CD drives..........

I wouldn't buy one for that kinda money, but I'll check it out when it comes out.

Slot load drives are fun until it decides to die on you with your only copy of an important disc inside :(

I don't really like slot-loading CD drives. Seems to me as though they'd rub against the CD more than a regular drive.
