Soundstage change

So, as you all must know, I am running Carver Amazings and as you all know they have a huge soundstage. So, my question is, for those of you that have had Amazings or similar speakers, when you went to upgrade or replace them, did you find it hard switching to a speaker that was in its own right excellent, but had a much smaller soundstage?
I ask because liked what I heard at the Dali warehouse, but I knew the soundstage was much, much smaller, and I didn't like that.
And if you did switch, what did you switch to?

Comming from 1.2 Tl's and the SRT'S,yeah, you get used to that wide sounstage.I guess for some it's a matter of preference. But I have to have a wide sounstage and wound up with the Legacy focus 20/20 and never looked back.Like most speakers, proper setup in a proper room will of coarse, bring best results. The Carvers,in their own right, are kick ****,and you will have a hard time bettering them for the dough.HT SYSTEM-

Just curious....what kind of front end did they have running the Dali's and what model were they?Dali's are alittle more sensitive to electronics than most.Did you get your ears on the Ikon mk2 at all?I am really interested in these for the start of a seperate 2 channel to replace my wifes sucky Bose.HT SYSTEM-

I forget what electronics they were using. Something small and asian and I've never seen it before. I do remember they were using burned CDs and a POS Panasonic slim DVD player as the source. I listened to the Ikon 7s and the MS-4.

Remember...
for richer and for poorer
in sickness and in health
Or is there some kind of escape clause with Bose:DI never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore -
Bump, more opinions please.

Like an old Camel Smoker "I'd rather fight than switch".
Well, OK, I am going to switch from the Original Amazings to the Plantinum IV.
The RTR is SRS, so again big speaker in a bigger room with a bigger stage.
If I go with a permanent third rig, a more intimate type thing, then a SET rig, with highly efficient speakers, I would want the space to fit the rig, otherwise a can rig would be fun and something different for me.

Doesn't sound like they went out of their way to showcase what the
MS-4 can do.Any good set of speaks will sound like crap if not set up
properly or the source sucks.Give them another shot. They should not be
as thin as you say in the soundstage.BTW-I've seen a few pairs of
VONS-VR4JR on the Gon for under 2500.To me the Dali's are beautifull.
Anyone should be so lucky to fall apon a set of those Dali's.HT SYSTEM-
