So i'm looking at sony40in. LCD xbr2 or rather my 60 year old mother is for her house. I have read adout the clouding issues when you have a black screen. What do you guys think of this problem and is there a better lcd i could have her look at? The size is what she wants & 1080p and i told her she needs at least 2 HDMI inputs. What do you guy think?:)

I think you need to learn to calibrate with proper connections and stop bottoming out your SVS. :D

Thats what we were doing, trying to help. And no, people don't normally have problems with SVS. Thier is no perfect tv, i think mother would be happy with something user friendly.

Yes, and 90% are improper connections and calibration.

    ANYWAY guys...
If Sony recognizes the clouding issue, you shouldn't have any regrets. Their XBRs are really nice.

Ultimately though, you should go to a store, have her look at a few options, and she can pick one out based on what she likes.

She's 60, will she notice the 'clouding issues'?
