Made my own interconnects

I'm no electrical guru, thats for sure.

But I needed longer (10 ft) interconnects for my 5 monoblock amps so I went to the electronics store neary (Baynesville) and bought 50 ft of black silicone cable that I thought would be adequate.

Cut and soldered till I had 5 10' cables. Didnt' really think they'd work right off the bat as my soldering technique is a bit rusty.

But they did, and as far as I can tell, there is absolutely ZERO difference from the fancy pants monster cables I was using for some of them as well as the well built, but much cheaper monoprice cables.

If there is a difference in there, I can't hear it. But appearance wise - big diff, cables exactly as long as required, and nice and flexible silicone jacketing.

Wish I could tell you exactly what the cable was, I'll take notice next time I'm there.

And why would there be any difference??? They are just cables :)

On a serious note, congrats for your little DIY project. It makes you feel good, doesn't it.

What in the world would pics do to enhance this thread? Do we really need pics of DIY cables and crummy solder jobs?

We like to see things. Makes it more real. Hell, you should have seen my first diy subwoofer project... looked like some one took a nice cabinet and then threw it out of a moving car, then pasted it back together while ignoring the original directions.

But I was proud and had pics to prove it!

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
