got a new toy

Hi some what new here, mostly look and take in info.But just wanted to share a new joy that i've been wanting for a while.A new sammy 61" 1080p just have to wait to get a stand for it.So for now it sits in my living room in the box.:( .Wife wont let met me open it till the new stand gets here and the old tv is gone.Should be a big change my old tv is 5 year old 57" sony crt 1080i, hope it's worth the money.I go to avs alot and based the purchase from the opinions over there and seeing some people have them here.It was down to the Sony 60 or jvc 61 or the 65 mits as you can tell i went with the sammy.Mostly I liked it best but it does 1080p over componet for my xbox 360. I will post with my thoughts over the next few nights.Any sugestions on set up would be be helpful thanks.:D Green

    Congrats !

    I was going to get a new TV, as mine was broke for a few weeks...couldn`t make up my mind, since there are so many choices, and they cost waaay too much.

    So I told the family to start reading books again...!


    Then I fixed the cold solder that was causing the problem, and am now putting that money towards my Main 2 ch rig..!!

    Interestingly, your 57 Sony is the one we were thinking about getting last year. Awesome TV too if I'm not mistaken.

    Can you post a link to the stand you purchased? We still need one.

    Congrats on the purchase! I have the 62 Mits DLP and love it. I've heard all good thing about the sammy. Get that snad so you can start enjoying it!

    You won't be disappointed... Samsung has been making some solid stuff lately.

    But just FYI, your 360 doesn't support 1080p via Component IIRC... only VGA thus far.

    I'm not sure how to link,but i'm getting my stand wal-mart.It was in their ad yesterday for 140.Think it will look good with the tv,Its black and crome.Dane you my want to google the 1080p thing.There was a update late year to fix that just for games.Only 1080i for movies on the hd-dvd add-on.Unless you go vga.A sammy is the only that does 1080p over copnet. Everybody else is vga or hmdi.thanks Green:D

    .....UPDATE....went ahead and got a stand that is as wide as the tv made for up to 62".went to best buy they had a bush vs74962 in shiny black matches the tv great.It was on sale for 302.99 and talked them in to taking $100 off so I got it for 202.99.Just got to wait till lunch for some help to put the tv on the stand.Then I can hook it up and finaly watch some dlp glory I keep hearing about . green:D :D:D:D
