Does anyone know if the RTi10 has two physically seperate crossovers or are both circuits on the same board?
Thinking of a bi-wire idea and the above info would really help.
Tks.

Ian, the high and low pass sections of a crossover are typically on the same board, but it would make no difference to simply physically separate them on different boards. You may have some misconception regarding bi-wiring, although you didn't go into detail as to your purpose. Bi-wiring creates no significant electrical difference and brings no advantages with it. Instead of the wiring separating inside the speaker as it enters the crossover board(or boards)it separates outside as it leaves the amp terminals, but this is of no particular significance.

What I was thinking, and there is a really good chance that my grey matter is having a gas attack, is that if the x-overs are truly seperate circuits the I could bi-wire and then jump the black terminals (-) to give them a comon circuit but leave the red (+) split. but this would only work if the circuits are actually seperate. In my head, it sounds like it would work but in practice it might be nothing more than fairy dust and mirrors.:)
Then again, maybe I am thinking too much and should just sit and enjoy the music.

Has anyone put any thought to any modifications to the RTi10 to tame some of the brashness other than hanging socks:rolleyes: over the tweeters?

Is there something that could be modified in the crossovers or and alternative tweeter?

Will the new series offer any components that could be retrofited?

It looks like I will have these speakers for quite some time and just throwing it out there.
I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

    Scott,
I've been playing around with different speaker cables and bi-wire/single run w/jumpers, to see if there is a combination that will "mellow" the highs just a tad. Part of my "problem" is my Yamaha RV-X1500 which is a "bright" receiver to start with. However that being said, I have found that Tributaries SP4 in a 2 wire run with jumpers made of the same cable, seem to be the best sounding/less harsh of the cables I've tried to date. Another really nice sounding cable is the Canare 4S8. I have some 4S11 coming in as well as a set of Signal cables.
I think I have the dreaded disease "Cableitis Speakeris".:)
I do not want to get bitten by the "Upgradis Receiveris" bug.
