Anyone familiar with the Electric Factory in Philly?

I'm thinking of going to see Rodrigo y Gabriela there, but I can't find any pictures of the venue. The only thing is that it's all general admission...
I see they do have a large variety of performers, from Insane Clown Posse, to Relient K. Can't get two much more extreme differences than that...
Any info would be appreciated...

Been there many times over the years. Big ol' box (the 'factory' part is literal), sound can be dodgy...but I don't think RyG will play so loud as to make that an issue. The actual venue lot is very small and fills up fast, but there are plenty of legal(?) lots in the surrounding area. They aren't free, nor cheap, and have a dodgy air about them. Security is tight, and booze is expensive. There are two levels, the upper being the bar area (most of the time). If you get there really early you can score a seat at the front of the balcony, which is the best place to be.
You might guess that I don't like the venue...and I don't. I've been to worse, but I've certainly been to better. But if you really want to see the act, its something you gotta deal with. The neighborhood looks worse than it really is, but don't get carried away...it is Killadelphia, after all. -
Haha, sounds like most small rock clubs
Lame security
crappy parking
expensive drinks
tough sound
As he mentions there are exceptions...but for the most part that's what you are gonna get. Sounds like they might do what they can to make the sound right as opposed to just turning it up to 11!
Good luck and enjoy the show....don't let these other factors detract from what's most important and that's the music.Analog Source: Rega P3-24 Exact 2 w/GT delrin platter & Neo TT-PSU Digital Source: Lumin T2 w/Roon (NUC) DAC: Denafrips Pontus II Phono Preamp: Rega Aria MK3 Preamp: Rogue RP-7 Amp: Pass X150.8 Speakers: Joseph Audio Perspective 2, Audio Physic Tempo Plus Cables: Morrow M4 ICs & Audio Art SC-5 ePlus, Shunyata PCs Misc: Shunyata Hydra Delta D6, VTI rack, GIK acoustic panels -
If I were to rate the Electric Factory on the corporate music venue lamo-o-meter, with 1 being a nice place and 10 being an intolerable experience, the EC rates a solid 7.

1. I'm not 21.... and I won't be by the time the concert comes around.
and
2. I'd like to take my dad to see this. Perhaps not the most family-friendly atmosphere.
I dunno... I think I'd just rather see them in a "cleaner" environment.Ludicrous gibs! -
If you really want to see RyG, you should go...the music is the most important part. I'm a jaded jerk when it comes to concerts, but when I first started going I didn't notice/care about the venue or anything else.
But, another solution might be taking a roadtrip to Washington, D.C. to see them at Grosvenor Auditorium (National Geographic headquarters). I've never been there, but something tells me it avoids some of the pitfalls inherent in other venues.
