Has anyone considered upgrading the woofer in a PSW505? Is the cabinet design a limiting factor?

Yes, the cabinet, along with the EQ of the amplifier would be limiting factors in just going out and upgrading the woofer. We do actually design woofers and cabinets to work well with each other ;)

Yeah..I understand that. I was just wondering if anyone played around with
it prior. BTW, it wasn't meant as a dig at the engineering..after all I used
to tinker around with "satellite" stuff in your neck of the woods when I live out
    east.

    Snap!!! Good response.
My next purchase will be a Polk sub (I know there are better, trust me I had a VMPS Larger), and I am searching for the perfect fit for my H/T.

I got a kick out of this response from a Polk Eng. guy.:)
