    I saw that report on tv. The slingshots were not issued. They were bought by a few dozen police officers to protest the removal of their weapons.

    The link doesn't work so I have no idea if this is relevant or not...

    ...but it does remind me that my history instructor said the other day that the police force in England has just started carrying guns in the last 15 years, and 8/10 still don't carry a gun.

    And he quoted a stat that in one year there were 7 murders in London...and 10,000 that same year in NYC.


    But, now that I think about it, maybe he was comparing Paris, France to NYC. Can't remember. Drrr. Glad it's not going to be on the test! :p
