Ok,
Long story short, I got this amp back in December. It has some minor problems. I sent it to B&K. They did an overhaul on it, new DC offset transistors, new ceramics, new precision matched fuses, new cooling fins for the class A pre drivers, new power switch/light, new power wiring, new, improved vented top, and returned it to me, in new factory packaging for a tidy, but not unreasonable sum. I've been listening to it all day, and it really is a very smooth, dynamic amp. Mosfets come close to giving it that velvety tube like sound. This is basically the upgraded version of the same amp that garnered so much praise for B&K back in the late 80's (ST-140, see Stereophile reviews online)
In the mean time, while I was waiting for it to get back from Buffalo, I went and got a bigger 205wpc Parasound, so I need this like I need another (fill in the blank).
The amp is 105 watts per channel, high current, mosfet drivers and outputs, class A pre-drivers, torroidal power supply, huge caps (I think about 50000uf total). With the new lid, this thing runs pretty cool too.
Cosmetically, there are a few very minor knicks on the brushed aluminum front, the top/side panel is brand new like I said before. Its been completely gone through by B&K, so its almost like a new amp. Comes with factory box/foam inserts, etc. Owners manual? No, but do you really need it?
