I'm a Nube in the car audio scene but just got a pair of db6500's and a pair of MMC690's.

Looking forward to install, but would like to power them.. minimum 100 W x 4 @ 4ohms.

Anyone got any advice about which Amp to go with? (preferrably inexpensive)

;)

Well, the polk 400.4 is not inexpensive, but it is a quality amp that will provide your 100 wats per channel.

The Polk 400.4 is not rated at 100 w rms @ 4 ohm, but at 2 ohm. (75w rms @ 4ohm) You are asking for something with more wattage. I have a hifonics Tx8805 which is supposed to be 110 w rms @ 4 ohm, but I wish I had the 400.4 as it seems much better quality.

If you insist on that power, another one is Infinity 7540a or 7541a.

I"d stay with the Polk though.

You could check out the Alpine (V12) MRV-F545, rated at at least 125x4 @ 4 ohms- the tested performance on the birth sheet will probably exceed that. If you don't mind buying online (and forgoing Alpine warranty for one from the e-tailer) the price is pretty reasonable.

Alpine MRV-F545 4-Channel Amplifier (though this retailer goofed on the specs)

I have been using the MRV-F345 and find it's been really clean and reliable so far.

I appreciate that, however my birth sheet shows that my 400.4 is pumping 93 watts per channel at 4 ohms. The Polk amps are underrated.
