Speaker replacement advice
I have an older Polk surround sound system which works fine other than the one rear speaker (M Series - M2) that I recently dropped onto a concrete floor. I don't think they make these anymore and I don't find any on e-bay. Does anyone have a suggestion for a replacement pair for these rear speakers? Or should I just go buy a new system? Thanks.

Monitor Series 2? Black wedge-shaped 10-100 watts each? If they are the same the I have four of them. (one pair I bought, one pair wothout mounting brackets given to me) I haven't listened to them in 2 years since moving, but now I notice that the highs are quite weak from all four speakers. Is that inherent of the model? I'm still not sure on my basement setup/refinish and am not sure if I'll use any of them yet.

If I were you, I'd take the breaking of the speaker as a good thing and upgrade your system. IMO, you can easily upgrade your sound for around $250 or so (gotta love discount R-series polks) and get higher quality sound.
However, if you're adamant that you want to get a replacement, check out craigslist: they're dirt easy to find on there.Lovin that music year after year.

Upon further review of my 4 speakers, even though the label has "Monitor Series 2" the text under the barcode has "M3" before the ID#. They're handy little speakers, but if $$$ is available an upgrade is a good idea.

Thanks for the replies. I was in Best Buy and listened to some Klipsch Synergy Quintet III speakers which sounded really good, so I bought them online (much cheaper than at the store). I supposed this is not the appropriate thing to be saying on a Polk forum, but just reporting what I did to solve my problem. Thanks again.

Sure it is! Just because we're at a Polk forum doesn't mean that we can't appreciate other speakers. A fair number of our listeners use different speakers. I myself used the reference line of klipsch speakers for quite some time.
Klipsch is a good manufacturer. I hope you enjoy your speakers, my guess is the Quintets were a step up from the M3's you were using.
Enjoy!Lovin that music year after year.
