Wall mount or brackets

Alright, I think I have only one more major question to ask to get my home theater finished. I have Monitor 30's as my surrounds and I know they have keyhole slots to mount them to the wall. My question is should I actually buy mounting brackets(already looking at the B-tech 77's) or just mount them to the wall? Will it sound that differently mounted on the wall versus on a wall-mounted speaker bracket? I don't plan on angling the speakers down, but more or less pointing straight at each other(this seems to sound the best so far). I may have already answered my own question, but I would really like to hear opinions on the sound differences between my two options. If I mount it directly to the wall, I do plan on isolating the key hole slot from the wall anchor somehow to at least try to eliminate that potential sound muddier. A bunch of ramblings I know, but if you fought through this far and can help me out I greatly appreciate it.
I know just enough to be dangerous, but don't tell my wife, she thinks I'm a genius.

When I mounted my LSi7's to the wall (with the keyhole slot) the bass was pretty sloppy. They were used as rear surrounds, so it wasn't horrible, but it did not help.
I am a big fan of the B-tech mounts and that is what I am using now. The bass is much better with them in use imo. (not to mention that I can better aim the speaker now than I could with just the keyhole slot)

Thanks for the question. I'm getting ready to place my rt/fx surrounds, and I was wondering the same thing. I'll probably wall hang them temporarily for this weekend, and if I don't like it, I'll come up with a better solition. My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

If the placement of the speakers flush on the wall in fine, I would just use the key holes. However, if you want to angle the speakers or rotate them at all, then I would get the wall mounts.

I guess I could just mount them to the wall by the keyhole slot and then if I don't like the way that it sounds, buy the brackets later. After having all this stuff for the past month it is driving me a little crazy not to have it all in place. But when you have a new job, cert. classes and a 4 month old baby girl, all your priorities kinda take a different direction than they have been in previous years. Thanks again for the help.I know just enough to be dangerous, but don't tell my wife, she thinks I'm a genius.
