Ok. I want to buy a few select rock albums pretty soon.. can you all recommend some "must haves" on vinyl?
I like classic rock from the 70's, and 80's. I also love 80's synth pop too.
I just bought Cat Stevens greatest hits on vinyl... lovely sounding album.
Here is a small list of what i do have already from way back when.. they need cleaning of course.
Eric Clapton - Slowhand
Fleetwood Mac - Mirage
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble - Texas Flood
Triumph - Never Surrender
Naked Eyes - self titled
Quarter Flash - self titled
YES - 90125
Doobie Brothers - Best of
Carole King - Tapestry
Elton John - A single man - unopened
Tony Bennett - get happy with the London philharmoic orchestra
Carly Simon - No Secrets
Jim Croche - greatest hits
the Knack - get the Knack
Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance
Pat Benatar - Precious Time
Steve Miller band - greatest hits 74-78
Journey - Escape and Frontiers
Led Zeppelin - In through the Out Door.
anyhoo, that gives you an idea of what i have liked in the past.. and still continue to enjoy today..
so please pass along any vinyl recommendations you think i should have in my library.. now that i'm dabbeling in vinyl again.
thanks

I just got a player myself, so not a lot of recommendations or experience...take it with a grain. This is about all I have found so far, but I like them:
Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles Live - 1972 Columbia Quadraphonic
Billy Joel The Stranger - 1977 Columbia -
Come on, DSOTM and Zeppelin 4 are must haves in every format
Edit: For a nobody band that isn't too hard to find on vinyl (my dad got it off ebay for mom) The band is King of Hearts and the album is Close but no Guitar. It has been awhile since I heard it but I remember it being good. Oh, get Queen News of the WorldGod shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 -
Oh yea, also check out:
Tommy Bolin - Private Eyes
Deep Purple - Fireball & Made In Japan
Judas Priest - Sad Wings Of Destiny (AWESOME on vinyl)
Aerosmith - Rocks
Black Sabbath - Vol. 4 (never done justice on CD IMO)
Robin Trower - Bridge Of Sighs
Hendrix - anything
