I thought I'd just say hi to all of you, since I decided to stop lurking.

I'll try not to offend the sensibilities of you longtime posters here, since I'm one of those several thousand post guys on another board or two, and I get the status thing. Although, there have been some issues I probably could've add some info to relating to my occupation (I install and power optical and electical digital telcom eq)

I've learned a thing or two since I started stopping by, like my 10b's probably need some crossover work, and maybe some tweet upgrades. That my wife won't let me spend 350 bucks on e-bay for some SDA 2a's within driving distance (pretty narrow minded of her), and that as much as I thought I was over the top on my A/V stuff, most of you make me look like a piker.

Anyway, I'll post a bit, lurk and lurk a bit, and see how things go. Thanks for the good board.

    Rule #1 in my book:

Never let your gear affect your decision or opinion on something. Everyone starts somewhere and has somewhat of a budget(although some on this forum might not;) )

Hell I'm just 21 and just recently got into the hobby, so my gear is sub-par pretty much everyone else on these boards.....I still give my opinions though as I'm learning :D

    Have fun and stick around.

    Welcome to the Forum!
Any chance of you giving an explanation of your screenname?

Again, welcome to the forum. Feel free to ask any questions and don't be shy to answer others' questions. You don't have to have 5000 posts to know what you're talking about.

He appears to be a river-rat. I'm guessing he's an audiophile catfish. Or, a very risky Texas Hold'em player.

Nice to have someone around here who's a new newbie than me!

Well... I was tossing around two ideas. Living right by the Ohio River, it is often used in a derogatory manner. It was also a pretty prominent character in Night of the Living Dead III.

    You never know:D

nevermind: the character was Riverman.... I should have eaten my Wheaties this morning.

I was born and raised in Seattle, where I lived for 41 yrs before heading to the desert. I used to spend a considerable amout of time thigh deep in rivers chasing salmon and steelhead.

When I moved to Tucson, I considered changing my screen name, which I use everywhere, but a few asked me not to because they wouldn't know who I was anymore.

    So I'm still Rivrrat.

Thanks for the hearty welcome all. Being an old timer board poster, I realize an intro on a new board is a nice way to start.

And to answer the question nobody asked, but I'm sure a couple wondered.

    Pioneer Elite vsx80txv a/v receiver
    Oppo 981 dvd player
Panny 5 disc dvd (for cd's now)
Polk Monitor 10b's (bought new in 85)
Polk Rt/fx rears (recent e-bay purchase)
Polk Csi 3 center (recent new e-bay purchase)
    Philips 50" hd plasma
Polk Atrium 45's out by the pool/patio area

And the usual collection of older stuff laying around collecting dust.
