Ok.. about twice a day I get a call on my cell phone with no one there on the other end. I answer it..and it hangs up within about 10 seconds. Is this something like cell phone phishing? I don't want to have to change my cell number.. but damn, it's driving me crazy.

The number is 866-673-7370 and I have tried calling it back..and doing a search on Whitepages.com reverse directory.. and no luck on either one. When i call the number.. it never rings or picks up.

Any suggestion on what is going on with this call to me every day? I'm really good about not giving out cell number to anyone other than family, friends & coworkers. I never sign up for any of those giveaways, or free stuff or any kind of surveys.. i'm stumped here.

I don't think you can block numbers on a cell phone.....I could be wrong though.

    here is the official website:
    www.donotcall.gov/

You can register all of your phone numbers (cell and home) here. Then, if you get another telemarketer call, they get fined big time after you report them.

In these cases I usually try and make up some elaborate story to the telemarketer that the person they are calling for(me) was jumped the previous night and is in critical condition. I claimed to be a family member and tell them unless they want to be listed as a suspect in the crime then they shouldn't call back.

I have also told telemarketers that the person they are looking for was murdered the previous night and a variety of other over the top stories.

So far it's worked and we haven't had telemarketers call in months.
