Since I have had HD for the last couple of weeks(working and not working) I have been finding myself in awe watching the shows on Discovery HD. The PQ is absolutely amazing not to mention the shows are amazingly interesting. Whether it be watching bugs on the equator or watching them restore couple century old castles, it is just a great channel all around.

How about you guys? Which do you watch often?

Yeah, I think DiscoveryHD definitely has the most awe-inspiring stuff. Sometimes I'll be flicking by and watch something I never would have otherwise watched just because it's in HD.

Likewise, I find myself NOT watching stations because they're NOT in HD :)

If you've never watched "Lost", that's a show that was made for HD.

    Otherwise, yeah, ESPN.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Comes back in February; I don't even remember what night it's on. If you haven't seen it, chances are you'd be, well, lost anyways.

If it weren't for ESPN and TNT I would cancel my HD service, I really wish the Discovery HD and Discovery would broadcast the same thing at the same time like TNT but instead by the the time the program that you want to see comes on in HD you have already seen it 3 times on the SD channel. It really gripes me that a portion of each months HD subscription fee goes toward watching reruns on Discovery

Personally, my favorite HD channel is HBOHD. Watching movies and series like Deadwood and Rome is breathtaking. Following that it would be DiscoveryHD. MusicHD has spectacular concerts with surround sound. Next would be all the network channels (except for FOX which is not currently broadcast in HD in my area). And wrapping up the rear is ESPN 1/2 which has single-handedly caused me to start watching sports again.

it's sad, but i've never experienced anything HighDef except for the BluRay demo in Circuit City - poor lighting, setup, etc, etc.. as standard equipment.

Im looking forward to the experience though. When it happens, i'm sure i'll be lugging my 36" crt behemoth out the door to the nearest pawn shop, selling unnecessary items around the house - clothes, food, etc.) so I can upgrade like seemingly everyone else around here.

I hear it's a really exciting experience- particularly with sports and National Geo.

iow- you guys are a bunch of lucky ****. ;)

I chose other too, I don't have HD, maybe next year, this vears taxes are going to build a new computer. I've been itching for a new video card, and the audio dropped out on my motherboard, and I had a hard drive smoke. so I was going to get a new board, and hard drive and a 6800 agp video card. Well the wife said why don't you just get a 64 bit processor. So I'm gonna try an amd this time around(I know intel has the faster processors right now). The money I'm saving on the processor is going to allow me to get a 7600 gs pci-e card.

I assume "HDNet" is similar to our "InHD" (881)... just a catch-all for extra HD programming.

Discovery HD is cool but I have found VOOM channels have better broadcast most of the time. Best HD channel, for me it's Universal HD right now although HBO and Showtime have good movies in HD, and the one channel that only plays old movies in HD, can't remember the name.

After around six months, Discovery HD lost it's appeal for me.

I watch mainly HBOHD, UHD, WNETHD, some network stuff, and this past year, Nascar in HD was finally decent quality.

Correct. It is the network started by Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban. They have travel shows, sports, girls in bikinis, etc.

Rave is a music concert channel on Dish Network. A variety of performers and genres.

I still find Discovery HD interesting. I dig that kind of stuff, and don't watch TV frequently enough to see reruns. DHDTV got my vote.

Well, I get OTA HD so all these options are out except Fox which doesn't have any shows I like very much. I really like some of the PBS programming along with NBC for The Office. Essentially, if it is in HD, I am very likely to watch it :)

Very true. Back when I first got HD...I started watching shows like "Smallville," and "Boston Legal," just because they're in HD.

As for Sports, nothing can touch NFL in HD!
