just thought i would share some photos of 2 polk csw100 subs that we are installing in a theater we are doing. the photos were taken with my phone so the quality is not the greatest but you can get the idea :)

the little plate that you see will come off after carpet and a 2x12 vent will go over that.
i will get some good pics when all said and done.
this room is going to be done like a drive-in should be cool when done

Cool idea, but I wish those pics were larger. You should use something like Imageshack.us to upload the larger images and then cut/paste the IMG code to make display larger..

    Very cool.

Any reason you didn't build an infinite baffle sub?

Ahhh, now I can see the floor below it! Duh, the floor joists with ceiling should have given that away!

    Very nice job!

I think with those types of subs I'd only want them installed in a wall that's not shared with any other room because I wouldn't want the sound to travel from room to room especially if you now have it sitting only 3/4 of sheet rock away from you.

i'm with ya there brett but gotta love builders we just have to put it where they want it :) we're hoping that the insulation and the design of the sub will help reduce as much as possible. i'm sure there will be some rattling though

I understand.........just wouldn't be something I'd opt for in the same scenario if it was my call. I do like the idea of all in-walls all the way around though, and if I had a good $10-15k layin around I'd love to put inwalls in........especially those IP addressable ones.

edit: now that I think about it, what a massive pain in the **** it would be to ever have to replace the sub if it was blown........lol.

i installed two of the csw200 in a customers floor off the polk amp and they sound great and are hidden under the carpet. I just wished i would have taken pics of the install, but look very similiar to yours without the vent. I mounted the csw200'sto the 2x12's and put a 3/4 board over the sub with holes cut out for the grill.
