    Have you seen the thread about the lack of iHD features and lack of HDMI 1.3? Might want to look into that before dropping $1200+ on this player.

    Not to mention LG might end up in a lawsuit over this, so if something was to ever go wrong with it I am guessing their customer support wouldn't be of much help.

    imo, this player will be discontinued before ever truely hitting the market(legally).

    I wouldn't buy this even if I had the money; who knows what could be wrong with them....first production runs? Maybe rejects? I'd wait.

    Some seller is trolling for suckers. $1,199 is full MSRP, forget about the BIN price. Also, he's using a prototype promotional photo -- the production units do not have the HD-DVD logo on them. They can't since the units are not fully compliant with the minimum HD-DVD specs.

    When you try to play an HD-DVD you get none of the extras, none of the special features, and not even the overlaid menus or language/sound setup options. All you get is a player-generated menu that lets you play the movie and that's it.

    Considering that you can buy a 2nd-generation Toshiba HD-A2 *AND* a 20GB PS3 for $300 less than this unit, I think this unit will bomb horrendously.

    Actually, every blu-ray player out there is a near universal player. The only thing blu-ray won't play are movies from universal studios. $1200 just so you can watch movies from one studio is pretty steep. ;).

    If it never hit the market I would be afraid of owning it what if it breaks. I pity the service tech no info, maybe a part which he can't get you're SOL.
