What firewall is better to install?

What will be a better one firewall I can download and use for free, that will come with my windows xp and won't slow it down? :(

    welcome will.

    it's been a couple of years since i've used it, but, if you're researching free firewalls, i'd think that zonealarm should be on your list. it always rated very well and i was very happy with it when i used it. but, there are probably alot of folks here with more experience on this subject than me.

    btw, just curious, this is your first post. how did you come to pick this forum to ask this question on?
