So no one replied to my last thread... :(:(:(

I cannot live with a blown sub. It's not nice at all to get into the car and listen to a blown sub.

Since then, I've been doing my homework and have narrowed it down to two different subs:

Polk MM2104 vs. Alpine Type R

Both of them 10 inch. And will be powered by an Eclipse 34230 amp. (370 watts RMS x 2 @ 4ohm )

So, what are your opinions?! I really need to make a decision. If you've heard both subs I would love to hear from you.. I realize this is Polk's website, but the type R's are rated at 500 watts rms vs 300 for the Polks.. I can get the Polk's for cheaper though.

Thanks.

go with JL Audio, they make phenomenal subs. one of their Prowedge series or HO Wedge would work well, and you can abuse the hell out of them with clean power.

i have the CVS210RG-W6v2. it's a sealed box, weighs 75 lbs, but can deliver some killer bass.

The thing is, I need two subs.... and JL audio seems expensive to me, and overpriced for the majority of people I've talked about.

I'm pretty sure on my two final choices. I just wanted to hear some opinions on them.

However, which JL would be similar to this series? W6? or W3?

    Thanks again, anyone else?

The Alpine will have more output and generally be louder. The Polk will sound better.

    Well...

I couldn't resist the great reviews and the 2 for the price of 1 of the Infinity Perfect at Crutchfield.

$149.99 Shipped for both of them is a pretty nice deal. Not even Ebay had them for so cheap.

The specs were very similar to the Polks, and quite a bit different than the Alpine's I was thinking of getting.

I hope I won't regret it, as I've always loved all my Polk speakers, and have never had Infinity's before.

The nice thing is that if you end up not liking them, Crutchfield has a 30 day return policy.

It's hard to see bad reviews from owners. Usually it's all praise, unless someone is really frustrated and tries its best to make the company go bankrupt.

However, most products that are so so will get very few "good" reviews. What inclined me to get the Infinity's (aside from the great price), was that there was over 40 reviews in the site. (41 to be preecise), when most other subs didn't have as many. More important, it was all praise praise praise, whereas some other subs have mostly praise but every now and then some bad review.

Anyway, I will receive them tomorrow, so I will let you know how much I like/dislike them. I'm sure that they will be a nice replacement to my broken Alpine Type S's though... and hopefully good enough until I finally get a set of SR's.
