Cool day, for sure, but I'm here at school away from my stereo.

    AND my iPod died. :(

Haha, I meant the battery. I'm still not sure it's operating correctly, as some songs don't sound right, sometimes it goes through different actions when you turn it on/take it off hold/pull out the headphones, and such, but it's still working. I just mean the battery's dead. Which I'm surprised about, as it was almost fully charged when I put it in my backpack maybe Tuesday, and today is the first time I've turned it on (yes it was on hold), and I only listened to two songs on it today before it died.

Mine is good for 3 or 4, 1 hour long workouts each week before it needs to be recharged. Might not want to leave it on the whole time.

Is using the hold button when it's 'off' leaving it on? I was under the impression that using the hold button was a way to keep it off when you have it in your pocket or somewhere (backpack) where it may bump into something and get turned on.

Well, when I use it I press and hold the top part of the circular touch pad (forgive me, I don't have it with me at my office). Then when I get my playlist going I put it on hold and put it in my pocket so that it doesn't change songs and stuff when I'm biking.

Then when I am done I take it off of hold, press and hold the bottom part of the circular touch pad to turn it off, and then put hold back on so it doesn't turn on again until I want to use it.

It sounds like you're putting it on hold while the interface is still on the screen. You actually have to turn the iPod off or it's just going to suck juice the entire time.

Nope, I do it just like you do. I press and hold whatever part of the click whdeel to turn it off, then put it on hold to make sure it doesn't come back on. I'll just have to use it a lot here pretty soon and make sure it's working properly...I wonder how long I have to return/exchange it...

Did you get the extended warranty for it? I'm beginning to think about it...

I believe all batteries have memories, I know what they say.... But listen too uncle Steve ok. Charge IPOD up until it shows it's on wall power, remove USB cable and turn on and run until it dies. Repeat this once or twice and you should be back in business.
