Hello all, I need some advice. I currently have a pair of RTi6s and a CSi5
in my home. I am building a new great room onto my home, and want to know what type of rear and side speakers to get. I am considering the FXi5s for the rear and some type of built into the ceiling speakers for the side. This a good idea, or would you maybe select built-in speakers for the rear as well. My receiver is a JVC RX-402B , I think, as I am not at home right now, but I did a search and it looks about right. Thanks in advance for your help!

Basically the rear speakers are the most unused of your HT system. You can actually get away with just about anything back there as long as you do not create any localization problems (i.e., the ability to detect which back speaker is nearest you) and you have them calibrated with your other speakers. I think you would be wasting money placing FX's for rears once you have limited your sides to ceiling. I hope you splurge for nice ceiling speakers because you are doing yourself an injustice by having your sides that high up and not pointed into the audience.
Of course this is just my opinion.Holydoc (Home Theatre Lover)
