After reviewing some of the upgrade performed to Polk Guru ...on this web site.

I have performed upgrade on the tweeter to RDxxx and cable to use the QED Silver anniversary. The sound has greatly improved.

I am now thinking of upgrading the crossover.

The initial plan would be to use the sonicap for the hf (ie. 2x 12 UF),
Is there any need to upgrade the 750pf or silca cap?

For the LF, unless there are certain benefits of using sonicap. I am thinking of using the Solen Cap 24 UF.

To replace the 55UF for the SDA, I am thinking of using 2x27UF to replace.
Is it also possible to use a single 56UF?

In addition, has any one tried to upgrade the origional 18GA SDA cable?
I tried to upgrade this cable with a couple of pure copper wire. It gaves me a large hmmm noise?

Your comments is highly appreciate. Thx

I believe that some are completely eliminating the silver mica 750pf due to the improved quality of the newer caps, also some replace them with a .1 uf cap,,I'm sue others will chime in--good luck, have fun.

HF: two 12uF Sonicaps, no by pass.

For the LF, you can use 2 27UF in parallel; what I did is ask them (Soniccraft) to target a value of 55 between both.

Solen or Sonicap for LF? strictly base it on funds; if you can afford Sonicaps, go with them.

    Just to confirm your comments:

In HF areas, I can removed the silver micra capacitor.

There are a three Jumpers used in HF, can I remove the first two jumper as well.

In the LF, from the response, I should expecting the sonicap would bring much more sonic improvement to the cheaper solen cap. Any comments!

-Yes, remove the silver mica if you use Sonicaps.
-No, don't remove the jumpers; this board is used for other models also that require other components; jumpers are in place to give continuity to the signal path.
-My ears say that Sonicaps are better; my ears say that even SDA soundstage improved. My ears could be wrong though. You can always try Solen, and if satisfied, just leave them.

    Good luck.
