Soon after the Taylos arrive...
Few more things will soon follow..
Khartago will be traded in for a Stratos Extreme... cant wait for that one...
And a Candela will arrive around the same time...
Oooo.. I cant wait!

Hold on there. Don't think too far ahead.
If your Khartago sounds great with the Taylos, why bother going to the "Extreme?" A bigger, badder amp don't mean it's gonna sound better with your particular components, speakers, and room size.
Take a break from your upgrade plans and enjoy the music along the way.
Consider doing something else with your money. Example -- invest in some woodworking tools that will help you generate disposable income to feed your audio hobby.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Hey Brad,
The Khartago is an excellent amp with the sound traits I want. But I need a bit more power overall in my music. The Khartago falls short with the RT55 in overall dynamics and volume...
And the price difference between the two is not that large - I would rather get an amp that can drive anything, than keep the amp I have which can only drive something. My current amp is a standard Stratos in a Khartago case basically, so it sounds just like a stratos. The Stratos extreme will have two transfrormers and 60,000 UF more per channel.
As for tools... I basically add the tools I need along the way - for instance when I put down my floor I went and purchased a miter saw. When I get out of high school, Ill probally purchase a table saw and a radial arm saw when called upon as well.
Audio isnt a huge expense since I am spreading it out and breaking it up into small payments... so its working out well overall... trust me when I say I am a very... frugle(sp) person and dont spend alot of money. I save about 80% of what I make..
But judging by the way the Khartago performs with the RT55, I can tell the 7u will give it a run for its money. Id rather just upgrade to the Extreme while Im dealing with Klaus with the Candela...
I guess I chose a good time though to get in line. Klaus is backordered 66 Candela units!!! :-0- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Cool. Go for it, then.
BTW -- Do you graduate this year? If so, any plans for attending college in the fall?HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Plan to go to a 2 year technical school for construction, will probally attend again after that for business...
After that... I have some possible plans with the music store Im with, just depends on where it goes I guess... lots of options ahead. The future will be interesting I think, hehe...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Great. I wish I would have gone to a technical school. That way, I'd have an actual skill. Right now I just have some letters that don't mean a damn thing.

I'd love for George to bring his Extreme to my house for a demo against the Marsh. No, I'm not throwing out any hints to George, just thinking out loud. George, if you read this, don't feel compelled to respond. You're under no pressure or obligation whatsoever to PM me and arrange to set up the demo.
Hell, if I had the money, I would have bought George's Extreme just because I could...

Construction is very cool, BTW. Project management is a great job. You get to manage construction projects from beginning to end. Project managers manage the budget, deal with architects, contractors, developers, clients, inspectors, etc. I can definitely see you being the go-to guy on the job site wearing a hard hat and Brooks Bros. suit with a cell phone in one hand and a clipboard in the other, with construction drawings tucked under your arm while you're bitchin' at a contractor for not doing his job according to spec.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I dont get that one... haha
Yeah, Construct. Manag is what my cousin does - seems to be a very good job. Im undecided on what I want to do...

On the upgrade to Extreme, I would throw the $100 toward the 30 day trial period and return it if you don't actually hear the difference. Without knowing how your new speakers are going to respond, it is a shot in the dark for the added 1-2 dbs in overall output. The Khartagos are voiced very close to the Stratos and I really believe that what most owners claim to hear won't stand up to a blind test. I think piece of mind in owning the baddest of the bunch is what satisfies their quest not a real noticeable difference.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable
