You may not know the name, but if you listen to just about ANY kind of music, you have heard this man play the tenor sax. I won't even attempt to list his accomplishments, he played with/for a lot of people. 57 years young.

He did tons of work with his brother, I believe his name is Randy. I first heard them in Bob James' recordings from the early 70's. RIP

Very sad indeed. He was a contemporary visionary.
He had just finished up a yet to be titled album a few weeks ago.
We also lost Alice Coltrane. Sad weekend for jazz -
As a saxman myself, I have watched his illness over the last year with alot of interest. He was truly talented and wasn't afraid to lend those abilities so broadly acrossed many spectrums of music.
