any thoughts on this flick? I love it- there's 4 commentary tracks on the 2disc s.e. that I own- and i'm just amazed at how effective this movie is as a psychological thriller- ranks right up there with SOTLambs.

anyway- just thought i'd throw this out for discussion.

One of my all time favorites, this is one of those movies that made (and still does) the hair on the back of my neck bristle.

I still haven't purchased the dvd yet I still pull out the old VHS copy and watch it. I can tell you it is very difficult to go back to that format. I need to pay more attention to my video collection replacements.

Do ya know where I can get a good deal on the dvd you speak of?

"The head in the box" movie can be had for around $20 for the 2disc edition. Trust me, that's the only one worth buying.

Another bonus is that it has DTS-ES. Great movie, always have been a Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman fan.

"JOHN DOE HAS THE UPPER HAND!"

Yeah, get the 2 disc SE with the DTS-ES track. Great DVD and great movie. It's part of my collection.
    No excuses!

What may be surprising to some (all) is that the Dolby Digital soundtrack is better than the DTS soundtrack IF you're using a 5.1 speaker scheme and if you utilize the "DOLBY VS WIDE 5 Speaker Mode" on your receiver.

VS being Virtual Speaker. I'm telling you guys, and I hate DSP functions or whatever, but this mode works like nothing I've ever heard before. IMO it's better than a 7.1 setup with Dolby Prologic IIx.

Great movie, thanks for the link as I could use an upgrade.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Kevin Spacey just rules. He's almost as good as Anthony Hopkins at playing a demented bad guy.

Head in the Box version? Is there an alternate version of the movie out there or something?

One of my all time favorites. Classic must own.
A script was written for a second one but never fell through.
