Just an LSi9 note

A few months ago Heiney9 and DKG999 stopped by my house for some listening, and H9 brought a pretty sweet CD of nice demo tracks. I stopped by H9's place today to get a copy of the CD and got a really quick listen of his Lsi9's.
So, this was my first good experience with any of the LSI line. All I've got to say is woa! There is some serious sound coming from those little boxes. Neither of us had much time to hang out for too many tunes, but I got enough to seriously wet my appetite. First of all, where the hell does that bass come from? I think H9 hid a sub behind his TV.
Also, this was my first experience with the imaging of the Lsi's. I get it now. The soundstage was full and you could see in your mind the location of all of the instruments. I didn't realize a bookshelf speaker could sound so good. ... so smooth.
So, I'm still pretty excited about my Rti setup in my basement. I threw the CD in when I got home and, while it sounds great on through the ADCOM and all, I understand the strength of the imaging of the LSi's now.
LSi's are where the 2 channel is at. Thanks again H9.

yep, I had the same experience when I heard the LSi line (my first ears were on jdhdiggs LSi7's. then I picked up a pair of 9's and usd them in 2 channel and was quite amazed at what these bookshelves were doing. then I got 15's and liked them just a skosh better than the 9's.
the amount of money it would take for me to get a significant upgrade from the LSi's in my theater are just not worth it. actually, I have to say that for the first time in as long as I can remember, I have no compulsion for a speaker upgrade in my theater or 2 channel system. its a cool place to beLiving Room 2 Channel -

They sure are a nice bookshelf speaker. I too had pretty much the same impression when I got my 9's last week . Nothing like an in home demo to open your eyes, ears and wallet.

Thanks for the kind words a_mattison. Glad you finally got to hear them even though it was short visit. They still make me smile everytime I listen to them. And for the record NO, I didn't have a subwoofer hidden . We'll do a long term listen soon as dkg_999 has some free time coming up as well.
Can't wait to see your new audio room you finished in your basement. I believe you referred to it as the party room."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
