crossover frequency?

How do i know what to set the frequency on my receiver?
onkyo 540 with polk R300 speakers.

Main- GTP-500II,GDC-600,GFA-555II and energy C-500s
Basement-Audiosource pre/tuner,GFA-545,Onkyo
DX-1400 and RTI10s
Garage-GTP-450,onkyo M-282 and R50s with RTi55
drivers and X-overs.
My baby 18' V-king Mod VP with a merc 2.4 BP.

    Well, the over all frequency response of those speakers is 45Hz - 24kHz. If you are talking about THX, they set their subwoofer crossover at 80Hz. However, Dolby Digital sets their at 90Hz. Setting This is implying however that you are using a subwoofer. If you have only those speakers in stereo without a subwoofer, no crossover is needed. 80 Hz is a generally desirable crossover frequency in most applications. I hope this helps.

    Thanks i found in my book that for that size
    cone it should be set at 80hz.
