Desk-top speakers
Hey Ya'll!
I am looking to replace my computer speakers with something that can handle more power and sound dang good. I currently am using a Denon stereo receiver with A/B channels (yay for bi-wiring) that I am going to keep. It sounds good and makes almost no noise. However, I have that paired to a set of R15s that I just happend to have laying around and have not had a chance to replace yet. Now I know that R15s sound way better than any computer speakers you can buy, but that still doesn't make them sound great.
I have been looking at a pair of M&K S150 which have been make for a monitor application and sound darn good. (Also a little pricey) I have not hear the LSi9s but have only heard good things, and also looked at the monitor series, but wasn't too intersted. (Maybe wrongly?) I was wondering if anyone suggests any Polk products, since I have always enjoyed their sound, or any other speakers that you feel would fit my bill. My last idea was to just build a pair of speakers which would also be pricey, but might pay off if I did it right. (Although doing it wrong is another story and there is no guarantee.)
I am really open to anything that could fit on my desktop (it's pretty big), sound great while listening to music at my desk, and would not cost me too much (under $1500).

$1500!?!?
Good God, you can get a heck of a computer system for that.
Go audition the 9's, grab a used Nad C372, and you should be good to go for around $1200. It'll revolutionize your computer system, though honestly your computer as source won't be doing it justice.Lovin that music year after year.

For $1500, there is no reason to compare the monitor line with the Lsi. I would suggest Lsi7s, and a new soundcard to level up your source. Or go cheaper with the Rti6 speaker.MrNightly wrote:Ha ha ha.. I love it. Cost too much... man...God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

I loved my LSi7s for computer duty...but for my application I definitely had to add a sub.
