RC80i a good choice for surrounds in my setup?

I bought some RC80i's at a good price intending to upgrade my surround speakers in my HT. Now I'm wondering whether they would overpower my other speakers if used for my back surround speakers in a HT setup, or if they are just overkill and should be used as the main in-ceiling speakers for another room. I've got RT600 fronts, CS300 center, with new svs ps12 sub and a new yamaha rx-v1700 receiver.

Thoughts?

Well you can always turn down the surround channel db level via the Yamaha receiver if you think they are over-powering. There should be a button on your remote which says "level", navigate to them and adjust db level accordingly.

    Good Luck
