Does polk make PC speakers? I don't have space for connecting a receiver, etc. What do people use for PC speakers. No surround - just music and Madden Football

Also, there are several compact receivers on the market, if you would still want to go that route. I am using an Onkyo R-805X in my office/den - a nice small stereo receiver that's only 8-1/16" X 3-9/16" X 11-7/8" (W X H X D). It has several audio inputs and even a sub pre-out. Made in Japan!

Polk has some powered atriums that might fit the bill. Not in the PC speaker price range though.

I have a Boston Acoustics Digital BA7500G for my computer, and it is unbelievable. Im sure that they do not manufacture these anymore; however, Im also sure that they have something comparable. I have had several people tell me that this system sounds better than there home stereo! Obviously no one in this forum, but that should speak for itself. Check out Boston Acoustics and compare prices with the Klipsch as well. I have heard Klipsch computer speakers set-ups and they are equally nice in many facets. I believe I get a little more output all around than the Klipsch's that Ive heard. Of course, that could just be my completely outdated sound card.

    Good luck,

    Josh

    Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX

It's $150 msrp, but by far the best 2.1 system for the computer. Not just my opinion (and I have a pair I love), but the opinion of many.

    Here's the product page: http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/promedia-2-1.aspx#reviews

Scroll down and you'll see a handful of reviews from top reviewers.

TNT-Audio, a high end audiophile review website, also reviewed them and gave them a very good review: http://www.tnt-audio.com/casse/promedia21_e.html

    A quote from their review:
The ProMedia 2.1 has a surprisingly rich, natural sound for such a system. Musical presentation is lively and immediate. The ProMedia can fill a small room with sound effortlessly. If care is not used with the volume, it can also overpower a computer workspace causing a decline in productivity as the listener slows work in order to listen. On the other hand, it can allow a gamer to become as immersed in the sound as he is in the visual and gaming aspects of his passion.

    Good luck and enjoy!
Lovin that music year after year.

These are the best computer speakers I've heard. I bought a pair for one of my daughters to use with her laptop. Could not be happier with them.

The hp computer we got a few years back came with polk speakers and they're terrible. If you're looking for something compact get a pair of small bookshelves (totem mites are nice) and a sonic impact t-amp. The amp will run you under $40 and will probably sound a lot better for the same money with some nice bookshelves than any computer speakers.

Thanks all for your help. Looks like the ebay has several auctions for the Klipsch. Also, thanks for the advice on the smaller amps. Didn't really know they existed. I will look into those as well.
