I've got two older turntables that don't work. I have no idea what is wrong with them, and I don't really want to try and find out. I have no idea what these are worth, so if you're interested please send me a pm with offer.

SOLD to bikerboy - DUAL 1209 with no cover - $30 OBO (plus shipping)
still appears to be in great shape, just doesn't turn anymore (motor, belts, ?)

BIC 960 belt drive with cover - $15 OBO (plus shipping)
cabinet needs a little tlc (coming apart at one of the mitre corners I think); also doesn't turn anymore

I can send pics of either, pm or post your email. If you want me to ship, I will need some advice on packing, as I have never shipped a TT.

EDIT
Now have these on CL, so you could view pics:

When you say no cover for the Dual I assume you mean no dust cover, right? Does it have the wood base? Does the tonearm look intact? Does the tonearm have the headshell carrier for the cartridge? Is the platter OK?

cambir, not to rain on your parade... and you are of course welcome to set any price you like for your for sale items... but think of it this way..

Club Polk is a community of sorts.. we watch each other's back whenever we can.. as to lend support for someone who is having a tough time.. or to help a person avoid making a poor decision on stereo gear.. namely electronics and speakers.

Within this online community... as many of us have become friends over time... we do not like to bid against each other.. meaning that if there were a couple of folks in here who would be interested in one or your turntables... we like to avoid the "OBO" sales. That basically pits us against each other for whomever is going to offer you the best deal on your sale items. Rarely will you see some long time member use OBO on a for sale item.

Also... put yourself in my shoes for a minute if I were interested in one of your turntables... would I want a turntable that is in questionable working condition?

Also pictures help sell items in here and on like Ebay... we're visual people..

just a few things to consider as you become more familiar with how things work in here. Glad to have you a part of the Club Polk family. :)

    Hi,
Do you have a TT already? Just wondering ? I just did a DIY arm replacement on my Denon and it works well. Duals seem it be popular. Good luck with the sale.

No rain jokes...I live in Seattle. :D

Apologies for no pics...I haven't figured out how yet, as I don't have a website.

No questionable working condition here...I said they don't work. I don't want them, and I know people in here like to DIY, play and tweak.

As for the OBO, this is not to pit you against another member, it is because I have absolutely no idea what a TT is worth. And...according to the official selling guidlines of the classified forum: A price + OBO (or best offer) is OK. Please handle "best offers" through private messages.

I respect the knowledge in here and long-time members but...take them if you want them, leave them if you don't.

Thanks for the post, though. :)

I do not have a tt myself. I may end up with one eventually, but I don't have the desire to DIY right now.

Correct, no dust cover...not sure I can answer the other questions that well, since I know absolutely nothing about tts. Everything looks intact, just don't work properly.

    Hi,
I have a hitachi dd tt that works well. I might be interested in a trade. If your mother inlaw can use a single play type I might trade for a stacker type. I have a pile of Frank Sinatra lps that were played for decades on a stacker. PM me and we can see if it will work. Thanks

    I'm up in S. Everett/Silverlake.

Too bad one of you wasn't looking for the Monitor 5's (in the WTB), I have a spare pair of Mon 5 Jr's.

If it comes to it later, I do have a JVC (LE-5) semi-auto linear tracking TT (the cover has about a 2" square where somebody tried to scape something off but it's got good hinges, cart, etc) for $50 (+shipping if out of the area).

    Cheers,
    Hatch
